Donald Trump slams Tim Walz as a rare running mate who hurt the ticket
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has resurfaced in the media as he positions himself for a potential Presidential bid in 2028.
Walz appeared on California Governor Gavin Newsom’s podcast where he raged at President Donald Trump and his supporters.
He’s been trying a tough guy persona as Democrat voters look for someone willing to go toe to toe with Trump.
Newsom and Walz discussed how to engage Trump voters.
The Minnesota Governor promised he’d take out his political opposition in a Wrestlemania-style throwdown.
“How do you fight it? I think I could kick most of their a**. I do think that, if they want to, I know I can outrun them, but I don’t know if we’re going to fall into that place where we want to, OK, we challenge you to a, you know, a WWE fight here type of thing,” Walz ranted.
Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked Trump about Walz’s comments at the Oval Office.
Trump predicted that Walz would “be in trouble” in a rumble with Trump supporters.
“Well, he’s a loser, you know? I mean, the guy’s a loser. He lost an election. He played a part. You know, usually a Vice President doesn’t play a part, they say,” Trump said. “I think Tim played a part. I think he was so bad that he hurt her. But she hurt herself and [former President] Joe [Biden] hurt them both. They didn’t have a great group. But I would probably put him at the bottom of the group.”
Walz was supposed to help Democrats with men and blue-collar voters but he became an electoral liability with his lies about his record and buffoonish behavior.
Tim Walz isn’t going away anytime soon
Walz is weighing whether to run for re-election as Governor next year or potentially throw his hat in the ring for 2028.
He told The New Yorker he would consider running for President in 2028 if the circumstances were right.
The Minnesota Governor has been making the rounds in the media and the left-wing podcast circuit to keep his name in the news.
Democrat voters are furious at Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and the party’s leadership for not doing enough to fight Trump.
Walz has tried to fill the void during a series of town halls in Republican House districts to “fight back” against Trump.
He tried to mock SpaceX CEO Elon Musk over Tesla’s stock being in a slump to start the year.
“Some of you know this. On the iPhone, they’ve got that little stock app. I added Tesla to it to give me a little boost during the day — $225 and dropping,” Walz said to cheers.
Walz later walked back the comments after it was revealed that Minnesota’s pension funds owned more than one million shares of Tesla stock.
Tim Walz continues to confirm that he’s not cut out for the intense spotlight of national politics.
