Kate Middleton wants Prince Harry and King Charles to bury the hatchet
Prince Harry’s relationship with his family began to deteriorate after he married D-list actress Meghan Markle.
He moved to the United States and released a tell-all memoir, Spare, that left him estranged from his family.
Prince William reportedly hasn’t spoken with Harry in years.
Kate Middleton, William’s wife, wants to repair one family bond in the new year.
A source told Life & Style that she’s “on a mission” to reunite Harry and his father King Charles III.
Charles has been fighting an undisclosed form of cancer since last year.
Harry traveled to the United Kingdom in February 2024 to briefly meet with his father after the cancer diagnosis was made public.
That is the only time the pair have seen each other in years according to reports.
Kate had a close relationship with Harry before he left the United Kingdom in 2020 after he stepped down from his role as senior Royal.
Her perspective on life reportedly has changed after she defeated an undisclosed form of cancer last year.
“Kate wants the family to reconcile,” a source told Life & Style. “With the king’s health continuing to decline, there’s only so much time for that to happen. Kate is on a mission to bring Harry home.”
The source said that she realized she can’t wait for things to resolve themselves so she’s taking bold action.
Kate’s cancer battle reminded her that life is too short and “too precious.”
“The main objective of her plan is for Harry to return to Britain and make amends with Charles,” the source added.
Prince William has different feelings about reconciling with Harry
Prince William doesn’t share Kate’s desire to have the family reconcile with Harry.
Royal expert Katie Nicholl told the Sun that William is still angry at his younger brother.
“I think the Prince of Wales remains very, very angry and upset and feels very betrayed,” Nicholl said. “Possibly the Princess of Wales is still open to a reconciliation in some form. I still feel it’s quite early.”
Nicholl argued that Kate’s perspective on her family changed after cancer.
“But I do think when you go through something like a cancer diagnosis and you go through the sort of journey that she has done, and you confront your own mortality, you realize life is short,” Nicholl stated.
She added that life is “far too short for rifts and family feuds.”
Kate could ultimately take on the daunting task of being the peacemaker to make sure the family is united once again.
“And perhaps that will be a role that [Middleton] will play at some point in healing that rift, because I think we look to the Royal Family as a symbol of unity,” Nicholl added.
