Wall Street Journal claims Kash Patel set up a secret hotline to contact President Trump
Ever since the days of J. Edgar Hoover, the FBI Director kept his distance from the President.
This led to the false claim in the media that the FBI is an independent agency.
In point of fact, the FBI is part of the Executive Branch, with the Director being a Senate confirmed position that reports directly to the Attorney General.
The media amplified the false claim about the FBI’s independence from the Executive in order to try and brow beat President Trump into keeping disgraced former Director Christopher Wray on the job so Wray could keep operating the FBI like the Democrat Party’s secret police.
On Wray’s watch, the FBI hunted down Trump supporters as part of the January 6 witch hunt, raided Donald Trump’s home – where agents even went so far as to dig through Melania Trump’s underwear drawer in the Mar-a-Lago documents case – and rounded up Pro-Life activists simply for praying outside of abortion clinics.
Donald Trump nominated Kash Patel as FBI Director to put a stop to a politicized FBI.
But the Deep State is fighting back.
Director Patel has barely been on the job two weeks and he’s already facing a leak campaign to try and destroy his name.
The Wall Street Journal claimed Patel set up a secret bat phone so he could personally call President Trump at a moment’s notice.
“Patel’s determination to keep in close contact with Trump himself is an arrangement outside the traditional chain of command in which the FBI director reports to the deputy attorney general, and the president usually talks only to the attorney general,” The Wall Street Journal reported.
The Journal tried to make it out like Patel was acting like a stooge for White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller.
“It is but one example of how on matters big and small administration officials including Patel and senior officials at the Justice Department have deferred to Trump and his deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller since taking office, the people said. Miller has regularly talked to top officials at the Justice Department, including about the FBI, the people said,” The Journal report added.
The Journal even claimed that Miller and President Trump strong-armed Patel into hiring Dan Bongino as Deputy FBI Director when Patel supposedly wanted to keep a career agent in the position.
“Patel had told others he planned to keep a longtime FBI agent and supervisor, Robert Kissane, as his deputy, for example, according to people familiar with the discussions, but let that go for Trump’s choice of conservative firebrand Dan Bongino,” The Journal report continued.
“Miller repeatedly called then-acting deputy attorney general Emil Bove at night to push for the FBI to do more to execute Trump’s immigration crackdown, people familiar with the calls said. And Bove is the official who ordered prosecutors to drop the bribery case against New York Mayor Eric Adams, saying the case interfered with the mayor’s ability to assist on Trump’s priorities of fighting illegal immigration and violent crime,” The Journal report went on to say.
But this looked like another case of the media running wild with whatever silly anti-Trump narrative their Deep State sources fed them.
FBI Assistant Director for Public Affairs, Ben Williamson, went on the record to personally shoot down the hotline story.
“Per me, this is BS,” Williamson stated.
