IRS official involved in Obama targeting scandal still holds a key position
President Donald Trump was able to get his cabinet installed quickly and appoint people to key positions in his administration.
But there are still some Deep State goons who need to be cleared out.
The American Accountability Foundation, a government watchdog group, identified a woman involved in one of the biggest scandals of Barack Obama’s Presidency serving in a top position at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Holly Paz is the commissioner of the IRS Large Business and International Division.
She served as a top deputy to disgraced former IRS Commissioner Lois Lerner who targeted Tea Party groups ahead of the 2010 Midterm Elections.
Lerner and the Obama IRS targeted conservative groups that were seeking tax-exempt status.
The American Accountability Foundation wrote to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to ask him to fire Paz.
Paz was placed on leave over her role in the IRS targeting scandal in 2013 and was quietly replaced by the Obama administration.
“With allegations that the IRS maintains political bias and is still targeting conservatives, Paz cannot be allowed to maintain a role in the IRS,” the American Accountability Foundation wrote. “Taxpayers deserve to have faith in those that receive a government salary and Paz has proved undeserving of the honor to serve the American public.”
Paz donated $2,000 to Obama’s campaign in the 2008 Election, and abused her position at the IRS to stop his political opponents ahead of the 2010 and 2012 Elections.
Disgraced IRS official got a new lease on life
The IRS issued an apology in 2017 for targeting Tea Party groups and paid a $3.5 million settlement after a lawsuit.
Paz was responsible for reviewing applications for tax-exempt status by Tea Party groups.
She dragged out their approval for more than a year while left-wing groups were ushered through.
Paz was rehired sometime during former President Joe Biden’s administration.
The Large Business and International Division she runs is “responsible for tax administration activities for domestic and foreign businesses with a United States tax reporting requirement and assets equal to or exceeding $10 million as well as the Global High Wealth and International Individual Compliance programs.”
A Democrat hack is in charge of an IRS division that could target innocent Americans.
She worked to try to bury the targeting scandal when an internal government watchdog tried to investigate it.
Then-IRS Inspector General Inspector General J. Russell George conducted a probe into allegations that Tea Party groups were being treated unfairly.
Paz was present in 36 of the 41 interviews that George conducted with IRS employees during his probe.
George admitted to a House committee that was an unusual setup.
His investigators left the room at the end of the interviews and let either Paz or Lois Lerner continue to ask questions.
The Trump IRS has a Democrat saboteur planted in it.
