Illegal immigration has slowed to a trickle at the California-Mexico border
President Donald Trump was left with a crisis at the southern border.
Texas managed to shift the flow of illegal immigration to the West during the final years of former President Joe Biden’s term after the state launched its border security operation.
California became a magnet for illegal aliens.
The sanctuary state began offering free taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal aliens at the beginning of 2024 and other handouts to draw them in.

California’s border crisis solved in months under Trump
Border Patrol agents in the San Diego Sector are apprehending about 40 illegal aliens per day.
That’s down from the 1,200 pouring across the border every day last April.
Asylum seekers were climbing the fence at the border and turning themselves over to Border Patrol under Biden.

Acting San Diego Sector Border Patrol chief Jeffrey Stalnaker said the razor wire laid days after Trump took office made a difference in illegal crossings.
“What we see behind us here today is the result of a true whole-of-government effort, from the Marines laying down miles of concertina wire along the border infrastructure, to the soldiers manning our scope trucks and remote video surveillance cameras,” Stalnaker said.
Mexico sent 10,000 National Guard troops to the border after Trump threatened to slap a 25% tariff on every good imported from the country.
The San Diego sector was the top region for illegal immigration last April.
Arrests of illegal aliens have dropped by more than 70% this year.
“To say there has been a dramatic change would be an understatement,” Stalnaker stated.
He warned there could be an increase in attempts to illegally enter the country by boat with the border being sealed shut.
