Chuck Schumer mocks Americans who want lower taxes and less government

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is getting pummeled by Democrats after he voted for a funding bill to prevent a government shutdown. 

The Democrat base and a majority of the party’s elected officials want to force a government shutdown to stick it to President Donald Trump even though the funding bill kept spending at levels set by former President Joe Biden. 

Democrats are melting down over Trump’s second term and automatically want to oppose anything he supports. 

The base demanded he resign, and anonymous House Democrats floated the idea of Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) running against him in a Primary. 

Schumer tried to do damage control during an appearance on ABC’s The View to promote his new book.

But he added to the Democrats’ misery when he went off on “greedy” Americans who don’t want to pay higher taxes. 

Schumer claimed that Democrats were united and used the bogus talking point that the Republican Party was controlled by a bunch of wealthy insiders. 

“We are united in going after Trump and showing the American people that he is making the middle class pay for the taxes on the rich,” Schumer claimed. 

The proposed expansion and extension of Trump’s 2017 tax cuts would eliminate the double tax on Social Security and the tax on tips. 

“On the tariffs. He wants to put these tariffs in that’s gonna raise you folks, the average family, $2,000 a year for these tariffs. Why is he doing that, something so stupid?” Schumer asked. “He wants to use that money for tax cuts for the billionaires. The Republican Party is a different kettle of fish than it used to be. And that’s why we’re fighting them so hard. They are controlled by a small group of wealthy, greedy people.”

Schumer attacked Americans for wanting to keep the fruits of labor in a rant reminiscent of former President Barack Obama’s “you didn’t build that” speech. 

“And you know what their attitude is? ‘I made my money all by myself, how dare your government take my money from me? I don’t want to pay taxes.’ Or ‘I built my company with my bare hands, how dare your government tell me how I should treat my customers, the land and water that I own or my employees?’” Schumer ranted. 

“They hate government, government’s a barrier to people, a barrier to stop them from doing things, they want to destroy it, we are not letting them do it and we’re united,” Schumer added. 

Schumer, a member of the party of Manhattan and San Francisco, used the worn out lie that Republicans are the party of the rich. 

He mocked hard-working Americans who want to keep their money from going to pay taxes so it can’t be frittered away on transgender operas in South America. 

Democrats believe the government should control Americans and their money.
