Biden White House used dishonest tactics on the media
The wall of silence around former President Joe Biden’s mental decline and its cover-up is crumbling.
Michael LaRosa, former First Lady Jill Biden’s Press Secretary, revealed how the White House got reporters to give Biden favorable coverage.
Biden’s handlers had him avoid the media and the public as much as possible.
LaRosa said that the Biden White House made “really unethical” moves to get the press to fall in line.
“They did bully a lot of journalists, and I think they would tell you that now. They wouldn’t have told you at the time,” LaRosa told The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur.
The Biden White House communications operation under Anita Dunn was suspicious of anyone in the media, even legacy media journalists.
LaRosa argued they had a “bunker” mentality.
“I never understood it because there was so much goodwill that [Biden] had with the media, had with the press, coming off of Donald Trump,” LaRosa said.
Biden’s team edited interviews after the fact
LaRosa pointed to one of the shady tactics used by the Biden White House after interviews with the President.
“I thought it was weird that they only did interviews for ‘quote approval.’ There was this thing in Biden world about quote approval, everything had to be on quote approval,” LaRosa explained.
A member of the White House decided “what the reporter can use, what quotes they can use” after interviewing Biden.
That practice was used to keep any gaffes Biden made under wraps from the public.
Biden’s team also had reporters ask questions that were approved ahead of time and reveal questions that were going to be used in an interview.
“I mean you saw them get caught trying to script questions to radio reporters that summer, summer of 2024,” LaRosa stated. “It was very reminiscent to me of being on the campaign in 2020, where these young press staffers in these states like New Hampshire, or Iowa, or Nevada, they were sort of like dog trained to make the questions conditional for interviews.”
Biden was caught at a 2023 press conference with a notecard with a reporter’s name and question written on it.

LaRosa claimed he refused to take part in these unethical tactics when he worked for Jill Biden.
“And I said to them, ‘Please never ask the journalist for the questions ahead of time. You can always ask about the topics, but do not ask them for the questions for Dr. Biden,’” LaRosa recalled.
Screening questions crossed a red line for LaRosa.
“My job was to protect my boss and they could handle their, we called it the boys side, the boys team could do their thing with regard to prepping [Joe Biden] for interviews. But I did not want – I knew from being a former producer at NBC, having long relationships in the press, that was just like 101,” LaRosa explained. “It was really unethical to be doing that, but these young kids are really taught to make that a part of their sort of pre-pre-screening for interviews.”
LaRosa argued that trying to protect Biden ended up backfiring on the White House.
“I learned over the course of the next four years, and I learned a lot last summer just how bad their instincts actually are, and how their instincts really didn’t serve the President very well,” LaRosa said about the Biden White House press staff.
There was no hiding Joe Biden’s severe cognitive decline from the public.
