Celebrity chef receives death threats over Meghan’s Netflix series
Meghan Markle’s new Netflix reality show, With Love, Meghan, created another controversy.
Critics have blasted the cooking and gardening lifestyle for being boring and fake.
Her dad and half-brother claim she lied about having a tough upbringing in the series.
Celebrity chef Jameson Stocks said that he passed on the chance to appear on Meghan’s show because it was “forced and fake.”
“Everything — the music is quite slow, it’s quite lethargic, it’s quite painful to watch,” Stocks told GB News in an interview. “I think she should go back to acting. She’s quite a good actress. In real life or on screen. People should stick to what they do best.”
His critical remarks about the Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix series have resulted in death threats pouring in against him.
The messages poured in by the hundreds against the celebrity chef.
“I’m just a single dad, and then all of a sudden, I’m getting death threats on me. And I’m thinking, ‘What the hell is going on here?’” Stocks said.
He claimed that his comments weren’t a personal attack on Meghan but his honest opinion about her show.
“I’ve nothing against Meghan Markle,” Stocks stated. “I never personally attacked Meghan. I never once did that. I never would do that.”
“I have absolutely zero interest in anything to try and bring her down. My only thing was I didn’t like the show and that was it,” Stocks added.
Stocks emphasized that he was simply calling balls and strikes.
“It wouldn’t matter if it was Gordon Ramsay, Wolfgang Puck or Donald Duck. I just didn’t like the program,” Stocks explained.
Meghan turns in a bad acting performance
Prince Harry only appears briefly in the show which features her and a rotating cast of celebrity guests.
“I just wanted them to show who they are, rather than being portrayed in some sort of fake program,” Stocks said. “I actually wanted it to be good because I don’t really agree with the way she was treated in some parts of the media, and at the end of the day, I just want people to be happy. You only have one life. I don’t want negativity.”
The British celebrity chef was approached by Netflix at New York’s Fashion Week about taking part in Meghan’s show.
“I was in New York last year, beginning of last year for Fashion Week, and I met with two people from Netflix,” Stocks recalled. “They never offered me a contract or mentioned anything regarding the Markle project. They never went into any details as such regarding who it was for. Like I said on [GB News].”
“But I was also made aware of – when I met these people – that it was for the Markle show from someone pretty close to the action,” Stocks added.
